Tools & Talismans #36 Steph Zangeneh

Every time I sit down to work I light a candle. It not only makes my office smell great but it’s now become a bit of a ritual. Lighting it means it’s time to get down to business. Right now my candle says Fearless and it’s a reminder of how I want to be in life and in business.

The antler was given to me by a dear friend on my 40th birthday. Which was a turning point in my life, both positive and negative. So I keep it on my desk as a reminder that all things change but it will be ok.

I am very connected to my family so I like to keep little reminders of them around me; my grandpa’s crystals and rocks, artwork by my mom (on my wall) and feathers my dad has collected on his property.

My tools are simple: a notebook, pen/pencil, computer(s) and my camera. Though I have a home office I like the fact that I can work from anywhere. I would love to experience working from a remote village in Spain or a lake cabin in Sweden. #goals

Tools & Talismans is a personal painting project where I’m documenting {in watercolor} the tools and talismans of 100 different women — creators and healers, thinkers and makers, wordsmiths and visionaries. Join me for a year of Tools & Talismans — I'll be sharing a new painting with you every Wednesday.

Do you have an illustration project that you think my style might be a good fit for? Looking for illustrations for your website, book project or have something else in mind? Please let me know, I'd love to talk about your project with you!
