Tools & Talismans #40 Flora Bowley

Soul fuel. Do you have a variety of go-tos for your soul fuel —  those things that keep you going, comfort and buoy, inspire and energize. I keep a full bottle of water, a lit candle and my current sketch/idea book close to hand when I'm in the studio working. Flora Bowley shares hers here:

As a painter, the first two items I grabbed were my trusty foam brush and a bottle of paint (fluorescent red is a favorite color at the moment). I also included a bottle of On Guard and a sage stick since these are items I use daily to protect and clear energy. I'm old fashioned in that I love to write and sketch with an actual pen on paper, and I consider warm caffeinated beverages and music (that's a speaker cord) two of my main forms of soul fuel.

Tools & Talismans is a personal painting project where I document {in watercolor} the tools and talismans of 100 different women — creators and healers, thinkers and makers, wordsmiths and visionaries. Join me for a year of Tools & Talismans — I'll be sharing a new painting with you every Wednesday.

I'd love to talk about creating illustrations for you! Do you have a project that needs some illustration? Think my work might be a good fit? Get in touch, I'd love to talk about your project with you!
