Tools & Talismans #13 Theresa Reed

I am a tarot reader and I use my tarot cards to help clients find direction in their lives, illuminate current circumstances, explore possible choices & outcomes, and unfurl the ideal roadmap to the future they want to create. My deck of choice is the Radiant Rider Waite because it’s classic and the brighter colors appeal to me.  

I open up my readings with a draw from The Power Deck, an oracle deck from Lynne Andrews. These cards have gorgeous pictures and profound statements on the back — taking a moment to read these meanings helps my clients settle in and ground before the reading commences. I have crystals scattered around my office. These lend a grounding energy to the room. I like to wear talismanic jewelry to protect my energy because my work can be extremely draining. Psychic Detox spray from Valentina’s Home Brewed is also a staple around here — I use that spray to clear energy, especially after a very emotional or hard reading. 

Wee plastic toys bring me joy and represent my playful nature. I love surrounding myself with them — and I use them in my Six Second Tarot videos on Instagram. I believe that life is meant to be enjoyed and a sense of humor is my secret tool to a happy life. Tiny hippos are my favorite, but I also love Lambie because I cannot resist any toy animal in a skirt!
