Tools & Talismans #55 — Lindsay Kluge

These are all items that make my day-to-day seem a little more whimsical and magical. The herbal tea, tea cup and brass strainer are in use for me constantly, as the tea blend I often drink (my Book Nook blend) helps keep me sharp, focused and concentrating on the longer tasks that need attention. I keep a little journal at my side always to jot down ideas or notes that I need to keep track of (anything that diverts my eyes away from a computer screen is a welcome tool!). The little branch pencil makes me feel more connected to the woodsy outdoors, even when I'm in an office most of the day. The funky little rock with a face is my inspiring desk dude that reminds me that life is continually magical, and even small, everyday objects can be sources of inspiration and stories. Finally, I have a Ganesha figure that sits on my desk as my "remover of obstacles" — I like to keep that energy close by!

Tools & Talismans is a personal painting project where I document {in watercolor} the tools and talismans of 100 different women — creators and healers, thinkers and makers, wordsmiths and visionaries. Join me for a year of Tools & Talismans — I'll be sharing a new painting with you every Wednesday.

I'd love to talk about creating illustrations for you! Do you have a project that needs some illustration? Think my work might be a good fit? Get in touch, I'd love to talk about your project with you!
